Advertising Terms
These campaign terms apply in addition to our general terms of use to anyone booking the Neighbourhood Calendar Spot, The Echo Hour Podcast Mentions or the Whole Row Partnership.
1. Booking
A placement is considered booked once we've confirmed your requested dates in writing and received payment as set out in our cancellation & refunds page. Availability is confirmed at the time of booking, not at the time of enquiry.
2. Creative deadlines
For a calendar listing, we need your description, date and contact line at least 5 business days before the listing's first day. For podcast mentions, talking points or briefing notes are due at least 10 business days before the first scheduled recording, since a script needs to be drafted and approved before we record. For the Whole Row Partnership, all newsletter, podcast and article materials are due within one week of the campaign's start date so the full month can be scheduled at once.
3. Approval
Podcast scripts and partner-labelled articles are sent to you for approval before they air or publish. We ask for a response within two business days; if we don't hear back by the scheduled recording or publish date, we proceed with the most recent draft you've seen.
4. Make-goods
If a technical error on our side causes a calendar listing to be omitted, a podcast mention to be dropped from an episode, or a newsletter credit to be missed, we will make it good with an equivalent placement at no additional charge, at the next available opportunity.
5. Editorial independence
Saltbox Echo's news coverage is written independently of who advertises with us. Booking a placement does not entitle an advertiser to influence, review or veto unrelated editorial content, and a paid mention is always clearly presented as advertising rather than as a news item.
6. Content standards
We reserve the right to decline or amend creative that is misleading, unlawful, or outside our coverage of Ottawa and the National Capital Region. We do not accept political advertising or restricted-category campaigns.
7. Rescheduling and cancellation
Rescheduling and cancellation of a booked placement follow the terms set out on our cancellation & refunds page and in the cancellation section of our terms of use.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these advertising terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
