About the placements
What exactly is included in each placement?
The Neighbourhood Calendar Spot is a four-week listing with a short write-up and weekly view counts. The Echo Hour Podcast Mentions are three host-read mentions with a briefing and script approval. The Whole Row Partnership bundles a month on the homepage, four newsletter credits, four podcast mentions and a partner-labelled profile article. The full description of each is on our rate card.
What area does Saltbox Echo cover?
Ottawa and the National Capital Region, including Centretown, the ByWard Market, Hintonburg, Gatineau and Orléans. A calendar listing or podcast mention reaches readers and listeners across that whole area, not only downtown.
What format do you need for artwork or audio?
For a calendar spot we just need a short description, a date and a contact line — we write it up in our own style. For podcast mentions, send a few talking points and we'll draft a script for your approval before recording. For the homepage and newsletter credits in the Whole Row Partnership, a logo file or a simple line of text and a link is enough.

Process & scheduling
How do I start a booking?
Send a message through the form on our contact section, call us, or write to [email protected]. Tell us which placement interests you and the dates you have in mind.
What happens after I send the first message?
The advertising coordinator follows up within one business day to confirm the placement, run dates and what we need from you — artwork, copy or podcast notes — before anything is booked.
How much lead time do you need?
A calendar spot needs at least five business days' notice. Podcast mentions need about two weeks, since scripts go through approval before recording. The Whole Row Partnership is planned as a full month up front, so book that one a little earlier if you have a specific start date in mind.

Pricing & payment
Are the prices on the rate card final?
Yes — $170, $480 and $990 CAD are the complete prices for what's described for each placement. If a request goes beyond that scope, we send a written quote before starting any extra work, so nothing changes after you've agreed to a price.
How does payment work?
Payment is arranged when a placement is booked, ahead of the run dates. We accept standard Canadian payment methods and send a receipt once payment clears.
What if I need to cancel or change dates?
Our full cancellation terms are set out in the cancellation policy, and refund eligibility is covered in the refund policy. In short, a calendar spot's date can usually be moved once at no charge, and earlier notice on any placement gives more scheduling flexibility.

What are your office hours?
Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, Eastern Time. Messages sent outside those hours are answered the next business day.
